Time to decide where to go next! This is a struggle for me, getting used to no calendars and to do lists will take some effort! Bouncing ideas around with Krista helped me come to a decision; Oregon wine country.
Before heading south I needed to get gas (diesel that is). I googled Costco and was on my way. Pulling into Costco and I don’t see diesel, maybe I missed it, so I make another pass through and the attendant (oh yeah, I am in Oregon) stops me, there are only three Costco’s with diesel in this state and I am not at one of them. So I head to the 76 across the street; there I get the diesel, pumped by one of Oregon’s finest attendants; I do miss living in a state where they pump your gas and clean your windshield! Now I am off…heading to I-5.
About 30 minutes down the road I pull into a rest area to let Lambert stretch his legs and looked at the gauges to find I was almost out of propane. Back top google to search for google a location and head down the road.
Flying J it is and it is confusing! There is a sign that tells me where to go but there is a HUGE RV pulling a HUGE matching trailer parked next to the propane fill up, so I find a place to park in the very busy gas station and head in to ask what I should do. The employee tells me they have been trying to find the owner and do not know where they are; she tells me to go to the area and another employee will direct me. Back to the van! I find the employee by the propane and he directs me so he can access the propane. I back up, twist around, back up again and again so I am positioned correctly. Geezzz!!
When he’s finishing the owner comes and moves the massive RV/trailer combo. I ask if there is somewhere I can fill my frsh water tank and he motions to the space the RV had just vacated, so I pull up and start to fill my water, within two minutes someone in a truck with a trailer starts honking at me! OMG – I give me a minute to finish!
Learning a lot, everyday!! Patiences is necessary!
Lambert and I continue to Dundee, OR. I booked a Harvest Host for two nights at Fox Farm’s tasting room. The host came out to met me when I pulled in and was very kind. There was a large grassy field behind the building and the weather was lovely. Lambert and I got settled and went in for a tasting. Soon another couple came in, they were from Hawaii, it was a nice afternoon.
The wine was good and I bought a bottle, the host offered his WiFI. I ventured onto the back deck where I could write and Lambert could be off leash. The one down side of the tasting room was it was on the main highway, in town. Walking Lambert was not the easiest, but we found some neighborhoods and parks and made it work. The second day we went to see Lachini’s new villa. I was the only customer and the server was very open and fun, so we stayed for about three hours! Now to decide where to go next.
Here’s the van at Fox Farms and Lambert relaxing while I enjoy my tasting!
Lambert checking out the view at Lachini, while again, I enjoy the wines!

This sounds like a test in patience to me! You are doing very well in accepting what’s happening. Wish I were there to give you a big hug!
Thanks mom!! XOXO
Cringing with anxiety as I read your gas station struggles! Way to persevere! 😄
Oh – just you wait! It gets worse HAHAHA
I finally figured out how to access your blog! 😂 catching up from the beginning. I still have never been to Oregon wine country. I hear it’s beautiful!
I know it’s a bit difficult. I think I have SEO issues! Yes, it was beautiful!
