Well the time came to head out, house is packed, stuff is stored, renters have moved in and now it begins! Not an exciting day; first stop was Poulsbo RV to have the ceiling fan/vent replaced! Lambert and I spent four hours ‘relaxing’ in their waiting area before beginning our journey. When it was ready we headed south to Lake Oswego to visit friends, arriving around 7pm; we met them on a walk and heading to their home. First time parallel parking and it was a success!
They invited us to stay in their house and after two nights sleeping in the van in my driveway I gladly accepted the offer! Lambert met Oliver the kitty, through the gate, they stared at each other forever and Ollie got a good whack in to Lambert’s nose, but it didn’t seem to bother Lambert’s ability to sleep!
I stayed two nights, got some organizing done in the van; amazed at how much actually fit. I have a lot more to do and I am sure the strategy will change each week, my goal now is to eat all the food I packed from home, so I can buy some more ‘van’ proper food.
I met up with my cousin in Portland too. Had a great time cathcing up, I think the last time we were together was summer of 2019, so it had been a while and it was a lovely evening in NW Portland, a charming area!
It was a long few days getting to this point, so I enjoyed the respite of sleeping in the van and the visiting. I hope to visit friends and family along the way, although I felt the need to get on the road. There is so much to learn and the sooner I get started the smarter RV’er I hope I will become!
Yay! I am glad you are doing great so far! Look forward to following your journey. 🥰
